I Surrender ...
Cliche to say but life does have its highs and lows. Sometimes those come in the course of a few days - or in my case a single weekend. The purpose of #SmallSuccess Thursday is to focus on the highs ... matter how close they may still be to my lows!! In seeing what God is doing - regardless of the circumstances or your emotions -is a true gift. IT is in that we find the peace this world can not give and where we discover JOY!
What a first seemed a low - only dropping 1 lb after a week of 'sacrifice and suffering' following my Weight Watchers plan - turned to a great delight when I shared this defeat with my WW support group (aka my dearest friends). When I texted to the group my disappointment they responded with all the GOOD that was in the moment that I should be focusing on; such as:
The Lord brought me to St. Phililp's in Greenville RI for a morning women'sretreat on TRUSTING GOD! It was a morning filled with so many graces and blessings -- the HOLY SPIRIT was on fire evident not only by the remarkable turnout (130 women!) but also the things they shared with me throughout the morning as God touched each of their hearts! One of the biggest takeaways for me is their trust to offer this event FREE OF CHARGE - with a free will collection the day of the event. They have inspired me to do the same for my retreats going forward. Trusting in the LORD and HIS providence - for HE knows what I need!!
Kevin and I attended the 50th World Communications Day Mass atThe Daughters of St. Paul, in Jamaica Plains, Massachusetts. The Daughters always put on the most moving liturgies - the music alone is worth the 40 minute drive! Their love of Christ is contagious, and their dedication to spreading the Good News through whatever means are available truly inspiring!! I was inspired by this event - and rejuvenated in my own ministry outreach through new media. Hence my success taken from that day - this blog is not only complete but being posted ON Thursday!!
For me this week was about surrender - giving the circumstances of my life to God. This is an act of faith - showing I TRULY believe it has all come from Him and therefore HE is best equipped to guide me in them. Tuesday night my son Adam and I attended a LIFT adoration worship evening ... when they played, I Surrender, my heart overflowed with gratitude to all God has done and all HE IS doing. In the small moments more so than in any other place in my life... LORD, I surrender all to you.
