Small Success #1
Spent time this weekend with some of the little girls adopted with Faith back in November 2009! It was remarkable to see how they are all developing in such beautiful young ladies. The most amazing is how well each is adjusted to their forever families! My success came from being FREE this time to go - though it meant I wasn't working which my hubby might not have thought was very successful. This is all part of the trust we are called to have in Divine Providence - so I guess this was a success within a success!!
Small Success #2 - being reminded from my old posts how much God is a part of my ordinary every day life. Today, tomorrow and forever! Sometimes it takes looking back to help us find the hope in Him as we look into the future!!
Here is my (unedited) Small Success Thursday - from November 2013!!
These Thursdays seem to come quicker and quicker, especially if I let myself remember that NEXT Thursday will be Thanksgiving!! Come to think of it ... I best wake up remembering that fact next Thursday or there is going to be 10 very hungry people at my house!!
Last week was extremely difficult for me emotionally and spiritually (if you want to know more - please read the Blog post below this on - Trust and lessons I learned on trust from Our Blessed Mother). I spent time pondering Mary's journey of faith and the acceptance of God's call in her life, and how that YES didn't mean smooth sailing, and the lack of smooth sailing didn't mean she misunderstood what God had been asking. A lesson, this mission minded woman truly needed to hear!! I guess that would be my first small success...
#1 -- Acceptance that 'working' for God does not guarantee me an absence of road blocks or bumps - but that does not mean I have misunderstood the Holy Spirit's promptings or more importantly that God has abandoned me!
#2 -- My teenage son finally paid money towards his loan at the "Bank of Mom and Dad" -- in time for Christmas Shopping, yes part of that shopping will be for him...regardless of that glitch, I'll take this small success!! **HA HA Flashforward side note ... he has re-applied for this loan and it is presently outstanding!
#3 -- God allowed many wonderful encouragements for my ministry work - particularly in regards to my speaking/teaching abilities. The funny thing with compliments during a time of trial or doubt...is they preserve an ego, instead of feed it!
Small Success #3
Taking some time off this week from A Seeking Heart with Allison Gingras allowed me to share some of my past favorite interviews from the Breadbox Media Podbean archives!
