Holistic Approach to A Women's Health
Moms, by their very nature, usually put the needs of their family before themselves. Moms typically eat lukewarm meals (on a good day), never consider taking a sick day, and rarely get the recommended hours of sleep each night. Traditionally Moms have embraced this lifestyle like a champ. What burden does this lifestyle place on our mind, body, and soul? Catholic Conference for Moms founder, Tami Kiser, sits down with renown Catholic doctor, Michael Parker, to help us answer that question.
Our health is something us moms take for granted until faced with illness. A year ago, my hands began to itch. Soon the itch turned into swelling, pain, and peeling. The condition continued for over year. My husband, in attempts to lighten the situation, often teases that I should announce, "unclean, unclean" as I traversed our hallway. You do not realize how often you use your hands until you are unable to use your hands. This puzzling case of Atopic Dermatitis provides ample opportunities of grace along with the frustration.
It is my year-long battle with the chronic illness that led me to choose Dr. Michael Parker's session to review. The Holy Spirit's generosity overwhelms me some days. Dr. Parker's advice confirmed much of what I've been reading as I search for a cure. His words brought me hope for healing. His interview blesses moms not only with sound advice on how to improve our physical well-being but also our mental, emotional, and spiritual.

An Upcoming Event - you may find of interest:
Although Cali is sadly not on my schedule (nor in my budget) this Fall - I wanted to share the 2016 Theology of the Body Congress with you. This conference scheduled for Sept 22 - 25th, is located at the beautiful Ontario Convention Center in Southern California. *Early Bird Registration (with prizes) until July 31st!
One of the topics that drew my attention was the inclusion of the fantabulous (*yes, that is a word - especially since Matt is both fabulous and fantastic - and I could not decide which to use) Matt Fradd among this year's speakers. I've been big advocate ever since being introduced to Matt's important and inspiring work, of helping people become aware of the dangers and detriments of pornography as well as providing resources to help those who love those addicted to pornography, at a conference several years ago. In my own ministry work with woman, and especially when I worked with teens and young adults, this issue was often overlooked or under-reported. It was either too embarrassing to share or was considered 'not a big deal' because it did not have any 'victims' or wasn't bothering anyone. If I had a dime for every time I had to counter the ridiculous argument or justification of, "Those men and women in the videos are making lots of money, they've consented, right! So, what's the issue?" Oh where do I begin ...luckily Matt has COVERED it all and then some!
If you have a child - of any age - especially in today's media drenched world, this issue is something you should note. If you have a significant other - then you should be paying attention. If you love and want others to be free to experience love in the way God intended - freely, faithfully and fruitfully; then again you need to make yourself aware of how serious and detrimental pornography is. It is not just about knowledge but how we can use this awareness to RESTORE human dignity and the threat to marriage. This is just ONE of the many important topics being covered in this year's TOB Congress: "LOVE, MERCY, AND THE GIFT OF THE FAMILY"

Welcome to Thursday, May 1st - the Month of Mary!! One of my favorite months - flowing along with Easter, it is a time of renewal and rebirth. For me it has also been an amazing time of growth especially in Reconciled To You ministry.
Chosen to speak at the Diocese of Fresno Congress in October!!
Launched my own radio show, Catholic 24/7 on Radio CorMariae! The show aims to simply share how the Catholic Faith can be lived in an ordinary life. Each week I discuss a theme related to growing or practicing the Catholic Faith - with stories, analogies, scripture, and answering questions from listeners posted on Social Media. It is a chat with a friend, who absolutely ADORES all things Catholic! It airs Wednesdays at 7 pm. You can listen online at www.RadioCorMariae.com, or download their great radio app. They are pre-recorded because the Good Lord has the sense not to let me loose LIVE but I am online during that time to chat with the listeners!!
Signed up for a summer course at the Theological Institute for the New Evangelization in Brighton. I am taking Spirituality for the Lay Minister. It is such a great God-story how this came to be. My friend and former field education 'intern', sent me a rather random Email suggesting I take a class this summer. I respectfully disagreed. A few minutes later she wrote back saying she'd changed her mind, and this Spirituality class was the one I needed to take. Again, I respectfully disagreed. The next day I was meeting with my new field ed student telling her about the summer course suggestion. She asked which one? As I'm looking up the Email on my phone, because I had forgotten the name of the course, I say to God - if it is your Will I take this course, let her be in the same one. There are about seven courses to choose from. As you can gather from my FIRST sentence, it was indeed the same class. I am auditing it for financial and time constraint reasons, but nonetheless am VERY much looking forward to soaking up all this new information and inspiration!
How about you -- what #SmallSuccess did the Holy Spirit guide you through this week??
