So... How's it going?
IF YOU have the book and are reading along - what insights have you gleamed to share with us?
Have you implemented a PLAN - you know like a real plan of how you are going to approach food and exercise? IF SO please share!! I am still mulling over Mary's powerful words from Chapter 2:
...those three things - prayer, mindfulness, and meditation - are essential for all of us as wel walk this path. Deep inquiry requires deep prayer. Again we see that these seemingly opposite things - body and spirit, food and faith, diet and prayer - are powerfully connected. We cannot come to know our true selves without prayer, without that connection to our Creator, and we cannot find that place of balance without knowing our true selves. ~ Cravings: A Catholic Wrestles with Food, Self-Image and God by Mary DeTurris Poust (Ave Maria, Press)
This week has been incredibly busy and I have not been mindful of much - including food or blogging!! Next week, I am making a commitment to meet here each day - and finish up our discussion on Cravings (***We'll revisit Cravings on A Seeking Heart with Allison Gingras June 29th - July 1st - with Mary visiting the show LIVE July 2nd!!)
I'll post updates periodically - we are hardly through with this topic (even after next week)!! I would LOVE to keep up with your progress as well! YOU are invited to EMAIL me any time at firstname.lastname@example.org - ask questions, seek encouragement or request prayer. I consider you my friend, and that is what friends do - support and encourage one another!! Support is KEY to success if you ask me!!
Here is my plan for this weekend:
is a Catholic speaker, blogger, podcaster and writer. She believes that the Grace of God received through Prayer, Sacrament, and Scripture is the easiest and best way to grow in our faith.
