Last Saturday my friend, Diana von Glahn aka The Faithful Traveler posted a magnificent grid of all the Mary Image's she had in her home on her blog. It so inspired me that I quickly put out on Instagram a grid of my own Mary statutes, etc (*see above). It was my daughter's birthday - soooo I got busy and the week of crazy happened, and here I am finally posted the 2nd part of the post.
What's the story behind some of them...
This is the image of "Madonna of the Streets" one of my absolute favorite depictions of Our Lady (*see statute just below this plaque in the grid). This was the BEST "THANK YOU FOR TEACHING RELIGIOUS EDUCATION" gift I have received - Thank you dear Fr. Philip Davignon!!
After a few years of attending Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (aka Eucharist Adoration) every Thursday with two of my dearest friends, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church's perpetual adoration chapel, I had to buy each one of us a little memento. I was even happier I did so when shortly after adding this Mary reminder to my shelf, we were fortunate enough to find a chapel even closer had been open. While it allowed us to go more often to adoration, I do miss our half-hour drive for fellowship, and the occasional detour to pick up a little ice cream on the way!
**St. Catherine of Siena is making a cameo in the background!
