Music that Moves Sarah Kroger

The message of Sarah Kroger‘s prayerful song, In The Silence, will touch the heart of everyone who stops to listen.    Take a moment to listen now:

“In the silence of the heart you speak,” Sarah’s voice reaches into my soul as I hear her words and am reminded of the indisputable importance of silence in my life. Not only silence for the sake of being quiet, but silence for the sole purpose of offering myself to God in a way that communicates to Him that He is a priority to me. In the silence, I am communicating to Him that He is valued more than the chaos of the day that calls for my attention or the many tasks written on my “to do” list.

We May Forget Him; but HE never Forgets Us

Have you ever found yourself so caught up in the craziness of life that you began to forget about God? Or maybe, for a time, you perhaps doubted His existence?  Possibly, you may have questioned the idea that He would speak to you or care about your needs. These thoughts are a part of being human, we all have them, but it doesn’t mean that we should believe them!

Whether you acknowledge it or not, God has always been, and will continue to be an integral part of your life.  He wants to be the one you turn to when you need help. When you are feeling alone, He wants to be the one that you run to. He wants you to be aware of His presence in your life and for you to feel His love and mercy.

With Sarah’s word’s, “Silence, fall; oh I am listening,” she is reminding us that the Lord wants us to open our heart to Him. One way of doing that is by making time to hear Him and spending time in His word, the Bible. Often, when we sit in the silence and read the words of Scripture, those words will speak to us as well.

1 cor 2:12

Seeking Scripture

Not everyone hears God in an audible voice. It is actually quite rare for this to happen. But we can hear Him in our hearts, in the words of Scripture or in the circumstances of our day. The Lord wants to speak to you!

Jesus says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27.  The Lord’s voice is the one that we need to follow, but we must invite Him into our lives in order to recognize His voice and His plan for us.

As Sarah reflects, “In the stillness of my soul you know; Lord, you know,” and He does know. Jesus tells us that, “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are numbered.” Luke 12:7.

Jesus knows you! He knows your flaws, your weaknesses and He knows your sins, yet He looks on you with love. He will always be delighted in the efforts you give to Him.

Strive tomake time for Him in your days. Don’t let yourself become discouraged. God will take what you give Him, multiply it and hand it back to you in the form of His peace and joy. Even small steps taken in His direction will lead you closer to the God who loves you more than you can possibly imagine. Choose to make Him a priority in your life and you will be astounded at the way it changes everything.

Reflection

Is there an intentional change you can make in your life so the Lord becomes a higher priority?
Is there something you can give up in order to make more time for Him?Pray and ask Jesus what is keeping you from making Him a higher priority in your life.  Ask Him to show you how to listen for Him and to see His presence, then step toward Him and open your heart to receive His love and mercy.

Pray- “Lord, I want you to be my highest priority. Give me the grace to make time for you and to be intentional about my faith. I want to hear your voice. I want to see you in the people that I meet and in the circumstances of my days. Help me to live my life for you. I love you. Amen.”
